MEET THE FLEET: A DAY ABOARD RIB CALYPSO
OCEANIS’S SISTER RIB AT PALEOKASTRITSA
The caves around Paleokastritsa have a way of feeling entirely your own, even with a second boat exploring them alongside you – and that’s exactly what Calypso is there for. She starts from Paleokastritsa, on Corfu’s west coast, running the same routes through the same impossibly turquoise water as the rest of our caves fleet. What she adds is capacity: a second boat on the same route, for the days one RIB alone isn’t enough.
What She’s Like on the Water
Compact and easy to handle, Calypso is built to fit into caves and coves a larger boat simply couldn’t reach – a DL RIB 960, nimble enough to nose right up to a cliff face and hold steady while you take it in. Every angle of the bay that looks unreachable from the shore turns out, from her deck, to be exactly where she’s headed next.
Who Calypso Suits
Two kinds of guests, really. First, anyone who books Oceanis and finds she’s already taken for their date – Calypso runs the exact same routes. Second, larger groups or parties who want to split across two boats and run the caves together, RIB alongside RIB, rather than squeezing everyone onto one. Both cases, you get the same Paleokastritsa experience either way.
Where Calypso Takes You
Calypso is based at Paleokastritsa and dedicated to the caves-and-coves routes out of that bay – if a different meeting point suits you better, our crew can usually arrange it, as we run pickup from several points around the island. Her two main routes:
The Secret Voyage of Odysseus
A 2-hour route through the caves, with storytelling, two swim stops and land transfers included.
The Ultimate Paleokastritsa Boat Experience
A fuller 4-hour version, with more time at each stop for a whole day around the bay.
